Kioke ferments in cedar barrels and sells to chefs. The packaging needed to look like a tool, not a gift, while still earning a place on a pass.
The challenge
What stood in the way
Craft food packaging has collapsed into one visual language of kraft paper and hand lettering. Kioke needed distance from that without losing warmth.

The approach
How the work was made
We treated the vessel as the label. A single fired gold band marks fill level and batch; everything else is left matte and unprinted.
Design direction
The language we committed to
Matte black stoneware, one gold horizontal, and a batch code stamped into the base. Type only appears on the shipper.

Final outcome
Where it landed
A five-size vessel family with a refill system, now stocked in twenty-two restaurants.
